How the rule works
City of Turlock customers have two watering days from March through October: Tuesday and Saturday for even addresses, Wednesday and Sunday for odd addresses. Winter drops to Saturday for even addresses and Sunday for odd addresses. Water before 9 a.m. or after 9 p.m. The current city schedule matches the Stage 2 summer days in TMC 6-7-405(b), although the standing baseline code prints three.

Exceptions to the Turlock rules
- The current city page exempts drip systems from the watering schedule unless Stage 4 is declared (TMC 6-7-405).
- New lawns can receive daily watering until the second mowing after a request to join the city's exemption list (current schedule; TMC 6-7-302).
- Hand watering before 9 a.m. and after 7 p.m. requires a written application and city authorization. It must be the assigned day, be the only available watering method, serve drought-tolerant plants, remain attended and use no more than 50 gallons that day (TMC 6-7-414).
- No irrigation during rain or for 48 hours after measurable rain. Prevent runoff and repair leaking fixtures (TMC 6-7-408).
- Residential car washing needs an automatic shut-off nozzle and is limited to one wash per vehicle per week on the assigned days and hours. Hardscape and building washing requires prior written city consent (TMC 6-7-302, 6-7-408).

- 1First notice is a warning; second violation within one year $50; third $100; fourth and each later violation $250 (TMC 6-7-409-410).

Turlock watering questions
Which Turlock supplier does this page cover?
It covers City of Turlock Municipal Services customers. Modesto also lists a separate outlying Turlock system. Use the name on the water bill to choose the correct schedule.
Why does Turlock's baseline code show three summer days?
TMC 6-7-301 prints a three-day baseline. The city's current Landscape Watering Days page instead publishes two summer days, matching Stage 2 in TMC 6-7-405(b). This page uses that current schedule.
Is drip irrigation restricted to Turlock's assigned days?
The current city page says drip systems are exempt from the watering schedule unless Stage 4 is declared. Waste and runoff restrictions still apply under TMC 6-7-408.
Can Turlock hand watering start at 7 p.m.?
Only the application-based exception in TMC 6-7-414 uses after 7 p.m. It requires city authorization, the correct day, attended watering of drought-tolerant plants, no other watering method and no more than 50 gallons.
How does Turlock handle watering fines?
TMC 6-7-409-410 starts with a warning, then $50, $100 and $250 for later violations within one year. The $50 penalty has a city workshop alternative subject to the code's deadlines.
How do I report water waste in Turlock?
The Landscape Watering Days page directs reports to Municipal Services at 209-668-5590. For a billing question, the city lists Accounts Receivable at 209-668-5570.
